Carmen graduated from the Digital Media and IT Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in 2012. Immediately after, she began her career at Prairie Dog Film + Television, working on the award-winning dramatic television series Blackstone for the 3rd, 4th and 5th seasons.
As the Associate Producer, Carmen provides support with grant applications, contributes and designs pitch materials, as well as reading and providing feedback on scripts. She also manages the design and maintenance of all content on Prairie Dog’s online platforms (including prairiedog.ca, Facebook & Twitter). Along with interviewing cast and crew on set for behind-the-scenes video content, Carmen is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all correspondence with Prairie Dog’s Executive Producer, Writer and Director, Ron E. Scott.
Carmen is a member of Women in Film and Television Alberta (WIFTA) and works on the board of Communities at Play Society (CAPS), a non-profit organization helping less fortunate communities in Guatemala.
